Inclusion is the Goal

Dulles Speech and Debate maintains that inclusive decision-making is critical in regard to matters of self-expression. As such, this Dress Code aims to exclude gendered separation or inequitable, unreasonable costs. Ultimately, students should exercise their best judgement – in keeping with community norms for the circuit sanctioning the tournament and their event.

Team Apparel

Please ensure that the tournament allows students to wear school-identifying clothing (see UIL tournaments). Otherwise – or once you have been eliminated – you are encouraged to wear Dulles and/or Dulles Speech and Debate apparel.

Guidelines for Formal Dress

Formal attire includes dress shirts, dresses, dress blouses, slacks, skirts, suit jackets, dark socks. Additionally consider ties and dress shoes*.
